Weight Management Courses

Any vets out there? Info Please?!!?
What would you recommend teens who want to be vets do to practice for the future job? Would volunteering at a local vet’s office be a smart move? Volunteering at animal shelters? etc. Also, what school courses would be best to take? Any good books to read? Please include anything else that you think might be important to know. Thanks!
Additional Info: I’m very interested in science/biology. I’ve been around dogs and other small animals my whole life. I volunteer at an equine rescue and have learned a ton about feeding/weight, etc., stable management, first aid, etc. Would any of this be helful towards a future veterinary job? Or lead to a specific specialization? I love and am interested in small AND large animals — is there any way to specialize in both?
Thanks for taking your time to read this, or answer it. Sorry I wrote so much!
Good for you for thinking about your future now!! Yes spending time with as many vets (large and small animal) as you can is a GREAT idea. Plus you’ll need recommendation letters to get into school, so best to make contacts now.
Make the absolute best grades you can. I had a 3.8 in college and was only average in my vet school class. Plus make sure you know the different schools You Want to apply to and know their courses that are required for entry. They are ALL different!
Good luck in your quest. Determination is going to be your best friend.
